Introduction
On this page a short introduction in English to the korfballclub WION. For more extensive
information there are links to the Dutch version of the website on your left.
The Korfballclub WION in Rotterdam-Ommoord is, with about 300 members, the biggest korfballclub
in Rotterdam. Besides korfball you can also play jeu-de-boules at our playfield which is at the Max Planckplaats in Rotterdam.
At WION we have korfball played on different levels:
in competitions, mid-weekkorfball, which is played on weekdays, and we have
G-korfball. G-korfball is played by mentaly handicapt people.
In the seniorencompetition WION plays with 7 teams. WION 1 plays in the fieldcompetition
in the Overgangsklasse (1ste class indoorscompetition ), WION 2 Reserve Overgangsklasse and WION 3 1ste Klasse.
Our youthdepartment has 11 teams where the A1, B1 and C1 teams play at the highest korfballlevel in Rotterdam.
The last thing we like to mention here is our own sportshal. WION is the first club in Rotterdam with their own sportshal. It was opened on the 31ste october 1998.

WION is also interrested in korfball contacts abroad. We already have contacts with
Germany. Together with the KNKV Rotterdam, WION organises a camp for German boys and girls in june.
Other contacts abroad are welcome.
